Donald Trump claimed that he decided to switch back to the old Air Force One aircraft to fly from Turkey to England to “honor” the troops, but it’s really because he’s scared of Iran shooting down his brand new Qatari “gift” plane.
Trump flew to Turkey in the Qatari aircraft to attend a NATO summit, where he has once again been humiliating himself and the United States on the international stage. However, he made the sudden decision to fly from Turkey to England on the VC-25 that he unceremoniously replaced with the Qatari abomination that he had repainted and refitted using hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars.
According to Trump’s excuse on social media, he’s just doing it for “old time’s sake” to “honor” the troops.
“To honor our brave men and women of the Military, we are sending the brand new, and truly spectacular, Air Force One to Mildenhall Air Force Base, in the United Kingdom, to give them a chance to tour the Aircraft — Everybody is so excited, and we thought that they should be the first,” he wrote. “For old time’s sake, we’ll be taking the former Air Force One, from Turkey to Mildenhall, a short trip that is totally worth doing in order to give our Great Military Heroes a chance to appreciate our beautiful new addition to the Air Force Fleet!”
Again, Trump’s new plane is a waste of taxpayer dollars and an eyesore compared to the elegant Air Force One that has been a symbol of our country for decades. Trump also thinks he’s going to be able to keep the plane when he leaves office, presumably to fly to a country that doesn’t have an extradition treaty with the United States.
But the true reason why Trump chose to fly on the real Air Force One again is that he is terrified of being shot down by the Iranians because the Qatari plane lacks the same defensive capabilities, as White House correspondent Andrew Feinberg pointed out.
In short, Trump is a coward. He has wasted hundreds of millions of dollars refitting a foreign jet for his own use, only to waste more money flying the real Air Force One to Turkey so he can use it to fly to England because he doesn’t know how to end his unprovoked war with Iran. Iran would certainly be saving us a lot of money if they treated Air Force One like we treated Iran Air Flight 655 in 1988.
