MAGA Civil War: Loomer And Musk’s Feud Is Exactly As Hilarious As You’d Expect

When liberals mostly packed up and left for greener pastures on Bluesky, they left a hole in the lives of conservatives on Twitter, who cannot exist without an enemy to fight. This has resulted in the same situation that always occurs when MAGA is left alone with itself: massive, hilarious infighting. And Elon Musk’s suggestion that we import engineers from abroad has infuriated the most extremely xenophobic segment of the Right and kicked off something of a MAGA civil war. And Laura Loomer and Elon Musk’s feud is exactly as hilarious as you’d expect.

On Christmas, Elon Musk (who has 12 kids) spent the day alone on his bought-and-paid-for propaganda platform Twitter (no, we will not call it “X”) ranting. This describes a typical day for Musk, who has devalued the platform by 80 percent since purchasing the now-dying company. But Christmas day was special. Christmas day (and the time following) has been one massive gift for those of us who enjoy watching Elon Musk suffer a fraction of the amount he plans to make Americans suffer.

Responding to a tweet in which someone points out that the US semiconductor industry “needs over 160,000 engineers by 2032,” weirdly xenophobic illegal immigrant Elon Musk offered a puzzling solution, given his (and MAGA’s) efforts to put 1954’s “Operation W*tback” to shame. “No, we need more like double that number yesterday! The number of people who are super talented engineers AND super motivated in the USA is far too low,” Musk said. “Think of this like a pro sports team: if you want your TEAM to win the championship, you need to recruit top talent wherever they may be. That enables the whole TEAM to win.” Naturally, this incensed MAGA — most of all, Trump sycophant Laura Loomer.

MAGA has been in an uproar ever since the man who has become known as “President Musk” because of his status as the man who is clearly in charge of the upcoming administration spoke out in favor of immigration — any immigration. While there is no universe in which America can magically produce the number of engineers and AI experts Musk says we need, the Right doesn’t want any immigrants coming to America. This includes both “illegals” and those who enter the country legally.

“There are over 330 million people in America,” wrote one follower. “Surely, there must be enough among them to build your ultimate team? Why would you deny real Americans that opportunity by bringing foreigners here?”

“Your understanding of the situation is upside-down and backwards,” Musk said in response. “OF COURSE my companies and I would prefer to hire Americans and we DO, as that is MUCH easier than going through the incredibly painful and slow work visa process. HOWEVER, there is a dire shortage of extremely talented and motivated engineers in America.”

This caused many to turn on Musk, pointing out that Musk’s own company had rejected them because they wanted to be paid fairly and floating theories that American workers are being “replaced by foreigners.” Loomer went on the offensive, tearing into Sriram Krishnan for suggesting that per-country caps on green cards be abolished so America can load up on engineers from India. Loomer, because she is Laura Loomer, completely misunderstood the tweet and thought the person suggested removing all caps on green cards.

Musk hopped in after incoming Trump Crypto and AI czar David Sacks pointed out that the suggestion was to remove caps on countries, not green cards in general. “Makes sense,” Musk said. He then accused Loomer (correctly) of “trolling for attention.”

Loomer went off. “You bought your way into MAGA 5 minutes ago after Trump almost had his head blown off in Butler. Remember when you voted for Biden and propped up [Ron DeSantis] and you said Trump was too old?” Loomer replied.

“We all know you only donated your money so you could influence immigration policy and protect your buddy Xi JinPing,” she says in the surprisingly accurate tweet. “You pretend like you have made such a sacrifice and investment donating to Trump and buying X, but you have only increased your own wealth and the wealth of your companies by practically invading Mar a Lago while trying to become Trump’s side piece.” She pointed out that Trump supporters voted for him because they think White American workers are being replaced with “foreigners who have disdain for white Americans.”

“PS: you aren’t President,” she adds. “Trump is. As he already has a beautiful wife. I’m not sure what role you’re trying to fill.” Loomer concludes, asking, “Did I get your attention?” She did.

Loomer vs. Musk: MAGA Civil War

Loomer’s outburst angered Musk, leading to more hilarity. Shortly after Loomer’s tweet, she was demonetized. Her subscriptions were canceled and her supporters were told that she was the one who did it. But that wasn’t the end of Loomer’s troubles. She also lost her ability to rattle off long screeds, having been kicked from premium and (apparently) banned from purchasing it. Her tweets are also so hidden by the algorithm that it took some real effort to find them to screenshot them.

“We are always told to buy premium. But if you criticize immigration you get your premium check taken away and you also get banned from being able to buy Premium,” Loomer says. “Pure censorship. MAGA has been silenced.” Other accounts that spoke out against H1B visas also lost monetization and blue checkmarks.

According to Musk’s AI Grok, Loomer’s checkmark was removed because she “questioned Elon Musk’s support for H1B visas.”

Loomer has previously criticized Musk, notably when she assured her fans that “the divorce” between President Musk and Vice President Trump “is coming soon.”

Loomer is right. The “divorce” will indeed be coming soon. According to reports, Donald Trump is extremely irritated that Americans are calling Elon Musk “President.” After all, Donald Trump enlisted Elon Musk’s aid to destroy the US economy — not to steal the spotlight.
