Trump Reveals GOP Hypocrisy In Obsessive Rant About Ilhan Omar’s Name

Donald Trump thought he had Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) between a rock and a hard place, but all he did was reveal Republican hypocrisy instead, as his social media rants blew up in his face on Friday.

Trump’s Department of Justice raided Omar’s home and office earlier this month with a dubious warrant in a desperate operation to find anything they can use to excuse deporting her so she can no longer pester Trump and the GOP in Congress.

Not only has a previous investigation found nothing, but Trump’s DOJ is now begging the courts to hide the contents of the warrant until after the midterms, making their persecution of Omar even shadier.

On Friday, Trump latched on to a new complaint about Omar- her name. Trump demanded Omar’s ouster from Congress because her birth name is not the same as the name she uses on the ballot and in her position as a member of the House of Representatives.

The problem is that while Trump crowed as if he scored some kind of victory, he also outed Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-La.) by referring to him as James Michael Johnson, which Johnson does not use on the ballot or in his official capacity in Congress either. Oops.

It was just revealed that Ilhan Omar’s name is not Ilhan Omar, the one she used to get elected and sworn into Congress, but rather, it’s an entirely different name, Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, and that her last name is, incredibly, also the exact name of her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, the person they said she married and had children with,” Trump diaper changer Natalie Harp likely wrote for him.

“When asked whether or not she married her brother, she said, “Not to my knowledge.” In other words, she somehow didn’t know? Therefore, because she used a fake name to be sworn in, I assume she must IMMEDIATELY resign from Congress,” Trump demanded. “Please inform the Speaker of the House of Representatives, James Michael Johnson, that the Dumocrat Party has just conceded her seat. Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, her real name, has openly admitted to FRAUD, and she will not be legally allowed to be a Member of this August Body from this point forth.”

Omar has not conceded anything. But if Trump’s going to nitpick over names, Johnson’s name isn’t the only one in GOP circles that is different from the names they officially use. For example, JD Vance was born John David Bowman. Should he immediately resign the vice presidency?

Nikki Haley’s first name is actually Nimarata. Melania Trump’s name is actually Melanija Knavs. Kash Patel is actually Kashyap Pramod Patel. This is not a fight that Trump should want to pick, considering how many Republicans in his own circle do not use their given names.
