The United States military is facing the depletion of its missile stockpile as Donald Trump’s unprovoked war against Iran continues well past the three or four weeks he claimed it would last. And now his United Nations Ambassador has the gall to blame former President Joe Biden for the problem.
After months of using interceptor missiles to destroy incoming missiles and drones from Iran against targets across the Middle East, our stockpile is running low, leaving our country vulnerable to attacks if other conflicts should ignite that we have to respond to.
It’s a significant problem that Trump apparently didn’t care about as he ordered strikes against Iran that started the war in the first place. But rather than take accountability for it, the Trump administration is blaming their favorite scapegoat even though he hasn’t been in office for over a year and a half.
That’s right, they’re once again blaming former President Joe Biden for all of their failures.
During an interview on Meet the Press Sunday, Trump’s United Nations stooge Mike Waltz insisted that the military has “everything they need” to fight Iran and blamed Biden for the missile shortage while also calling for those who reported the shortage to the press to be put in jail.
“I want to be crystal clear: The U.S. military, and I’ve verified this every which way, has everything that it needs to conduct this campaign as effectively as it needs to be,” he said. “And I have to tell you, the people that are leaking this nonsense deserve to be in jail.”
Trump “inherited a depleted situation from not only Ukraine, but also the ongoing fight with the Houthis under the Biden administration and a depleted military under the Biden administration,” Waltz continued.
It’s a ridiculous claim. Unlike Trump, Biden used military resources sparingly. He certainly did not start a war on false pretenses like Trump has done. As the current occupant of the White House, if Trump and his military commanders knew there was already a shortage of defensive missiles, starting a war that would engulf the entire region and place American assets and allies at risk of retaliatory missile strikes is beyond incompetent. It’s reckless.
So, sure, blame Biden if you wish, but it means Trump and his military minions started a war knowing our military is ill-prepared to defend against retaliatory missile strikes. Either Trump and his lackeys were this reckless, or they fired off so many interceptor missiles in the last several months that they caused the depletion themselves. No matter what the truth is, Trump is president now and has been since January 2025, a whole year before he started this war.
Enough with blaming Biden. This is on Trump. He has repeatedly claimed that he made our military “strong” again. Clearly, he did not. And now he’s making things worse, and that makes Americans around the globe unsafe, whether they wear the uniform or not.
