After several primary victories by Democratic Socialist candidates over establishment Democrats in New York, a Republican is calling for the government to outright assassinate them to prevent them from winning a seat in the United States House of Representatives.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has been wildly successful and popular since taking office six months ago. His achievements include lowering the crime rate, repairing streets, providing child care, and freezing rent for up to one million residents for the next year, all while raising taxes on billionaires to cover costs and balance the budget.
He ran on policies that Americans overwhelmingly support, and he has kept his promises to enact them. That’s why the three candidates he endorsed in the recent primaries all won their elections over Democratic incumbents.
Republicans, right-wing media. and establishment Democrats have been in a complete uproar ever since, viciously attacking Brad Lander, Claire Valdez, and Darializa Avila Chevalier and the policies they support, which again are overwhelmingly popular among American voters.
The resistance against a leftward swing by the Democratic Party has laid bare the control that corporations and Israel have exerted over the establishment for decades. These candidates are proving that Americans want change that benefits them. Mamdani has proven that these changes can become reality.
But a threat to their lives and safety is apparent, as a Republican member of the New York City Council appears to be calling for them to be assassinated by the government. Vickie Paladino said this openly in a social media post.
“There was a time in our history, not too long ago, when the CIA/FBI would’ve made sure unabashed revolutionaries like this were neutralized one way or another,” Paladino wrote. “In fact, that was basically the entire point of having them.”
Of course, opponents of Democratic Socialism don’t know what it means. They’ve been brainwashed for decades to believe it’s the equivalent of communism, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Several European nations practice what is called social democracy, including Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Sweden, all of which are among the happiest and freest countries on Earth.
The United States would do well to head in that direction. Paladino should be expelled from the council and barred from ever holding public office again. Her party is literally full of Nazis, who now control all three branches of the federal government. They are literally waging war against democracy to stay in power, all while serving the billionaire Epstein class at the expense of the people, who are struggling to live in the richest nation in the world.
As Donald Trump and his minions continue to tighten their grip on power and use federal law enforcement and the military as their own personal intimidation and retaliation squads, Paladino’s call for assassinating left-wing candidates and politicians is a true threat.
