Trump Admits He’s Profiting Off The Presidency As Americans Struggle

Donald Trump has been shamelessly profiting from the presidency since day one, and he’s now openly admitting it as Americans struggle financially because of his policies.

Trump has been making billions of dollars since taking office a year and a half ago. From investing millions in stocks tied to his policy decisions to wealthy right-wingers paying him for access to criminals paying for pardons, Trump has ignored presidential precedent while repeatedly violating the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution.

Trump even started a war in Iran so he could personally profit from skyrocketing oil prices, as timely investments seemed to coincide with his announcements of a potential deal to end the hostilities, only for those “deals” to fall apart or be denied entirely as false by the Iranians.

Then there’s Trump’s foray into cryptocurrency, which has netted him $1.4 billion while investors lost nearly double that amount. That was the crux of a reporter’s questions to Trump on Wednesday morning.

“What message does this send to average Americans, especially those who may be struggling right now financially?” the reporter asked.

Indeed, Americans are struggling to get by while Trump and his family and friends make windfall profits, both from insider trading, policy manipulation, and outright stealing taxpayer dollars. Gas prices went through the roof, and Trump said he didn’t care. Trump has also made it clear that he isn’t concerned in the slightest about Americans’ financial woes.

In response to the reporter, Trump tried to play it off like he isn’t involved in his finances, claiming that he has a “blind trust.” Of course, that’s not true. While past presidents have placed their assets in a blind trust to avoid conflicts of interest, Trump has ignored that precedent, just like when he refused to release his tax returns.

Unlike other reporters who avoid challenging Trump, this reporter kept pushing until Trump finally admitted that he’s profiting off the presidency.

“Well, you know why I’m profiting? Because the stock market’s going up. Everybody’s profiting,” Trump said. “So we’re all profiting. I’m profiting because I have a lot of money and a lot of cash, and I give it to institutions.”

A majority of Americans are NOT profiting. They’re losing their homes. They’re losing their farms. They’re losing their jobs. They’re losing their healthcare. Prices are going up. Groceries are more expensive. Inflation is higher. While Trump is profiting off the presidency, Americans are struggling in his disastrous economy.
