As Trump Listens, Pastor Prays For Him To Be A Less Sh*tty President

Donald Trump now knows what it’s like to be humiliated in the form of a prayer, as he had to stand by while Rep. Jonathan Jackson (D-Ill.) asked God to make him a less sh*tty president at the National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday.

Trump spent his time during the event taking a dump on his Christian supporters, admitting that he still hasn’t read the Bible and mocking House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) for requesting a prayer before eating lunch together.

But it was Jackson, the son of the Rev. Jesse Jackson, who stole the show when he delivered a prayer right in front of Trump, telling him how terrible a leader he has been.

“Today we pray for America, and we pray for all parliamentarians around the world,” Jackson said. “The book of Timothy teaches us that you’ve been entrusted with leadership. Today, we pray for the future of this nation, and that you would lead this president into greater levels of compassion for your namesake. We pray that you would protect him from the inequities of evil, that you would give him greater clarity, greater courage, and greater capacity to do what is right in forever challenges.”

Jackson not only called out Trump’s lack of compassion, but he also slammed him for not doing anything to alleviate the ongoing suffering in this country.

“Today, we remind him that the lives of millions of people are in his hands, and that he has the power to turn mourning into dancing or to reduce the country into a cosmic elegy of chaos and suffering,” Jackson continued. “And it is because of this that we pray that the best of this president would rise among us. For the sake of this nation, for the sake of this world, we pray that goodness and mercy would announce themselves in his life in new and powerful ways.”

Jackson also alluded to the ICE murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti in his plea.

“We pray that he would be mindful of the poor and that he would be invested in elevation, the alleviation of suffering happening on farms in the Midwest, and the families preparing to bury their loved ones in Minneapolis,” Jackson said. “Remind him that we are all Americans, all made in the image of God. And that none of us are free unless all of us have our freedoms protected. Many people are not lazy. Many people are simply tired. Many people simply are not okay.”

Will Trump heed Jackson’s words? Doubtful. Trump only cares about himself. The breadth of his evil doings is beyond forgiveness. He had his chance to do something meaningful to improve our lives, and he failed. He has brought nothing but embarrassment and ruin to our once-great nation.

Make no mistake, Trump stood awkwardly while being shamed in front of an audience on camera. He may not have caught on, but everyone else did.
