Jon Stewart Mocks Trump’s ‘Peace Prize’ As Ethics Complaint Is Filed Against FIFA President

Donald Trump’s participation medal was the subject of more mockery this week as Jon Stewart took aim at FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who is facing a possible ethics investigation.

Infantino presented Trump with a “peace prize” last week in a ceremony clearly designed to stroke Trump’s ego in the wake of his losing out on the Nobel Peace Prize. The fake prize has been mocked ever since, but Stewart took his own turn on Monday by wondering how FIFA came up with the design for the trophy.

″‘Why do we got to invent some prize just to satisfy some fragile egomaniac? Trump is so needy! It’s like the world always has to reach out and stroke his balls!’” Stewart quipped. “‘Oh, Donald! You’re such a good leader! Oh, you’re such a man of peace! Oh, you’re a man of peace! I love you! You’re the most peaceful man!’”

Indeed, the trophy features hands touching a globe, and Infantino has been repeatedly sucking up to Trump. In fact, Infantino’s insufferable slobbering over Trump could now be the subject of an ethics investigation after advocacy group, FairSquare filed an ethics complaint. The complaint points out that Infantino violated FIFA’s own Code of Ethics, specifically Article 15 mandating political neutrality.

“In offering clear support for President Trump’s political agenda at home and abroad, Mr. Infantino has repeatedly breached his duty to remain politically neutral, and done so in a way that poses a clear threat to the integrity and reputation of football and of FIFA itself,” FairSquare stated, according to the Huffington Post.

As the world tuned in, expecting to watch the World Cup draw, they were instead forced to watch political propaganda as Infantino handed Trump an award that had never existed before and was absolutely invented to prop up a wannabe dictator.

Infantino not only deserves to be mocked, but he should also be forced to resign. He embarrassed himself and the world’s most popular sport.
