Mark Kelly Offers Savage Trump Takedown In Defense Of His Wife

Senator Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) had a devastating response that Donald Trump surely will throw a temper tantrum about after being asked whether the United States is ready for a “disabled” First Lady in reference to his wife, former Rep. Gabby Giffords (D-Ariz.).

Kelly has already been targeted by Trump and Pete Hegseth for reminding our troops that they shouldn’t obey illegal orders, going so far as to threaten him with a court-martial, reduction in his rank, and loss of his military pension. Trump even suggested Kelly be put to death for sedition, even though Kelly was merely informing our troops that they have a duty and a right to disobey orders they believe are unconstitutional.

During an interview with The Atlantic, Kelly continued his feud with Trump after he was asked about his wife, who was shot in the head in an assassination attempt in 2011 that left her with permanent brain damage.

In response to the question of whether America is ready for a “disabled” First Lady should Kelly run for president and win in 2028, the retired astronaut didn’t hold back.

“In my opinion, we have a disabled president right now,” Kelly said, clearly referring to Trump before pivoting to focus on his wife.

“The way she connects with people is unlike anybody else I’ve ever known,” Kelly said. “Before she was injured, people used to compare her with Bill Clinton. She’s been in this business. And she had, you know, like the worst thing that any politician could have happen, right? She gets shot in the head.”

Giffords would be an exceptional First Lady, and Kelly is absolutely correct about Trump. Trump is unfit to be president and never should have been elected. Our country has had to watch and cringe every time he speaks. He’s an embarrassment and a fraud.

We can certainly expect Trump to throw a fit about Kelly when he learns of this interview, if his minions don’t hide it from him, that is. And even if they do show it to him, he still has to read it, if he can.
