Trump Announces ‘Patriot Games,’ Comparisons To Hunger Games Ensue

Fresh off adding his name to the Kennedy Center, Donald Trump took yet another step toward dragging the United States into a dystopian future by announcing a Fall 2026 competition in which two athletes from each state will compete in the “Patriot Games,” which is drawing comparisons to The Hunger Games.”

In an announcement on Thursday, Trump described the games as “an unprecedented four-day athletic event featuring the greatest high school athletes — one young man and one young woman from each state and territory.”

Yeah, if this seems familiar, that’s because it’s part of the plot of “The Hunger Games,” a series of novels set in a dystopian United States in which the country is divided into districts and one man and one woman are selected from each district to fight to the death in an arena.

While Trump’s “Patriot Games” likely won’t go this far, it’s not something we should just ignore. Social media users sure noticed.

It’s a slippery slope, especially with Dementia Don in the White House. Every high school athlete should refuse to participate. Unfortunately, not everyone has the brains to understand what is happening. And that’s how dystopian nightmares begin.
