Do you remember when Donald Trump was trying really hard to convince you that Mexico was going to foot the bill for a big wall to keep themselves out of the United States?
Or when Donald Trump tried really hard to convince you that people in Ohio were snacking on cats and dogs like Cheez-Its and peanuts?
I should hope that you also remember that both of those things (among sooo very many other claims made by the sitting United States president) were categorically false.
Now, please bear those previous claims and their ultimate validity in mind when I tell you that Donald Trump is now trying to convince Americans that Portland, Oregon, is a “war-ravaged” city, on the cusp of complete and total anarchy and destruction, that’s been taken over by left-wing “domestic terrorists.”
Yes, I’m serious. Yes, he actually said that.
Portland has become Donald’s newest target, and he’s frankly foaming at the mouth to deploy United States military forces against AMERICAN CITIZENS, all so people will just stop disagreeing with him already.
As part of his plan to launch an all-out war in Portland, Trump has been trying his damnedest to deploy members of the US National Guard into the state. Federal judges are telling him, “Hell no.”
Donald, of course, doesn’t like it when anyone tells him “no” about anything, ever.
It tends to lead to him openly threatening to break the law and piss on the United States Constitution — which is, unsurprisingly, exactly what he did this time.
U.S. District Judge Karin Immergut put the kibosh on not just one, but two of Trump’s attempts to send troops into Portland. The first of which was when he attempted to federalize 200 members of Oregon’s own National Guard. When Karin blocked that order, Donald attempted to reroute and instead deploy an influx of National Guard troops from Texas and California. Judge Karin did not allow this either, calling his second attempt a “direct contravention” of her first ruling.
Following the news that Judge Karin was taking precisely zero percent of his bullsh*t, Trump sat his a*s in the Oval Office and made it crystal clear that, should he deem it necessary in the coming days and weeks, he has absolutely no problem breaking the whole entire law and invoking the United States Insurrection Act as a way to circumvent what the literal law has decided.
Speaking to reporters from the Oval, Trump said that he doesn’t think it’s necessary to invoke the Insurrection Act yet, but “if I had to enact it, I’d do it, if people were being killed and courts were holding us up, or governors or mayors were holding us up.”
“You look at what’s happening with Portland over the years, it’s a burning hell hole,” he went on to add. “And then you have a judge that lost her way that tries to pretend that there’s no problem.”
Trump’s openly talking about invoking the Insurrection Act with zero insurrection in sight. He’s inventing chaos in Portland and Chicago, and even saying he’d use it if courts or local officials are ‘holding us up’.
Wild how he didn’t bother using it during the actual insurrection on January 6.

The Insurrection Act of 1807 is a federal law that gives the sitting US president the power to nationally deploy the U.S. military or federalize state National Guard troops with the purpose of quelling something that has been deemed an insurrection against the United States government by the president — you know, like what should have been done during the January 6th Capitol Insurrection.
It’s the very same law that Donald’s supporters urged him to invoke in 2019, after he lost the presidency to Joe Biden, in an effort to unlawfully remain in office.
White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller has made a full-time job out of stoking those “insurrection” flames lately, stating that Trump’s Administration has been fighting a “legal insurrection” from judges who won’t just let Donald do what he wants to do, when he wants to do it.
Miller even went so far as to publicly state that any rulings that stifle the Trump White House amount to “an insurrection against the laws and Constitution of the United States.”
“We need to have district courts in this country that see themselves as being under the laws and Constitution and not being able to take for themselves powers that are reserved solely for the president,” Miller said… And then a judge’s house “coincidentally” blew up.
