Trump Obsesses Over Awarding Himself The Medal Of Honor During Military Ceremony

Donald Trump stepped all over a ceremony recognizing those who have been awarded the Global War on Terrorism Medal of Honor by claiming that he deserves the award himself.

Just a day after delivering a speech to a partially empty Republican Convention in Dallas, Trump appeared at the National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, where instead of focusing solely on honoring those who have earned the honor through extraordinary valor and life-risking sacrifice, Trump made it about himself by repeating his desire to award the Medal of Honor to himself.

“I want for myself a Congressional Medal of Honor,” Trump said. “And I’ve studied it; I would give it to myself — I have no problem, but I’m not allowed to. Can you believe it?”

Just in case you think Trump is just “joking,” he added this: “I’m not kidding.”

This is not the first time Trump has fantasized about awarding himself the Medal of Honor. He did so during a visit to mark the opening of a Theodore Roosevelt museum in South Dakota over the summer. He also tainted a Medal of Honor ceremony during the State of the Union Address.

Donald Trump is a five-time draft dodger who has referred to fallen soldiers as “suckers and losers.” While he fantasizes about an award he is absolutely unqualified to receive and posts AI images of himself as a decorated military hero, the bottom line is that he has never served a day in uniform and has never seen combat.

Furthermore, Trump isn’t even proving himself to be a capable commander-in-chief because he’s losing his unprovoked war with Iran. He doesn’t deserve military honors or the presidency. Every time he muses about awarding himself a military honor, he insults every American who has served. Our military should be so ashamed of this that they remove him from office. Sadly, they lack the courage to defend our Constitution from domestic enemies.
