Donald Trump sent a letter to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, bemoaning his failure to win the Nobel Peace Prize and blaming the Nobel Committee for his aggression toward Greenland.
Trump has been obsessed with taking over Greenland, going so far as to demand that Denmark sell it to the United States and even threatening to take it by military force, supposedly because it’s a matter of national security.
Of course, the people of Greenland are citizens of Denmark and overwhelmingly oppose becoming part of the United States. But it’s clearly not about national security so much as it’s about Trump’s bruised ego over not winning the Nobel Peace Prize, according to a letter Trump sent to Norway.
“Dear Jonas: Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America,” Trump said according to the letter obtained by PBS News.
“Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they have a “right of ownership” anyway?” Trump continued. “There are no written documents, it’s only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but we had boats landing there, also. I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now, NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland. Thank you! President DJT”
Trump has only sought to weaken NATO since taking office. And repeating the lie that he has ended eight wars doesn’t make it true. Also, if Trump cared at all about peace, he wouldn’t have bombed Iran, invaded Venezuela, or continue to issue threats to take Greenland by force.
Now he’s trying to blame the Nobel Committee for his aggression towards Greenland just because he didn’t win the Nobel Peace Prize. Just when you think Trump can’t get any more pathetic, he sinks to a new low. He needs to be stopped. World stability demands it.
