Trump Sets Stage To Steal Medicare And Medicaid From Americans To Pay For War

Donald Trump isn’t getting the $200 billion he demanded to pay for his war in Iran, so he is apparently looking to steal the money from Medicare, Medicaid, and other government services that Americans have been paying into for decades.

As gas prices continue to soar in a sagging economy due to his war in Iran, Trump is now setting the stage to strip the American people of critical government services so he can divert the money to fighting a deeply unpopular war.

While speaking at the White House on Wednesday, Trump claimed that the federal government can’t handle funding popular healthcare programs, Medicare and Medicaid, and wage war at the same time.

“It’s not possible for us to take care of daycare, Medicaid, Medicare, and all of these individual things,” Trump said. “They can do it on a state basis. We can’t do it on the federal. We take care of one thing: military protection.”

Millions of Americans, including millions living in red states, rely on these programs. Without them, millions of people would be without proper medical care, and many would likely die. Trump’s declaration is callous. It sounds like he intends to use his failing war in Iran, which he has repeatedly claimed has already been “won,” as an excuse to gut these programs so he can divert the money to his military escapades.

Americans have been paying into Medicare and Medicaid since they were created. This money is not supposed to be touched for other agendas. Our troops are already dying to satiate Trump’s thirst for war and his obsession with stroking his fragile ego. Now he wants to sacrifice American lives on the home front.

These are not the words of a president who cares about the people. These are the words of a madman who is desperately trying to cling to power even if it means sacrificing the lives of every man, woman, and child in the nation to do it.
