Trump Gets Called Out For Disrespecting American Soldiers Killed In His Iran Folly

Donald Trump wore a white baseball cap and failed to bow his head during the dignified transfer ceremony in Dover for six American soldiers killed by Iranian strikes, drawing condemnation.

The six soldiers were the first American casualties of Trump’s unprovoked war against Iran, and they likely will not be the last, as Trump considers sending in ground troops. But Pete Hegseth has already disrespected the fallen by complaining about the media reporting on them, accusing the media of only doing so to make Trump look bad.

“I get it; the press only wants to make the president look bad,” Hegseth said, according to CNN. “But try for once to report the reality.”

The reality is that no excuse the Epstein Administration has manufactured to justify war with Iran holds water. The reality is that Trump let Israeli dictator Benjamin Netanyahu take control of our military. Now the entire region is a tinderbox set to explode. Americans are already dying in a war that the people overwhelmingly do not support, and gas prices are rising, not that Trump actually cares.

You know what else Trump doesn’t care about? The troops. On Saturday, he completely disrespected the fallen six American soldiers who were killed as a direct consequence of his actions. Not only could he not bother to at least bow his head out of respect, but he also wore a white baseball cap the entire time rather than remove it.

This follows Trump’s previous remarks referring to dead American soldiers as “suckers and losers.” Watching Trump openly disrespect dead American soldiers as their flag-draped coffins passed by did not sit well.

This is not how a president should honor fallen troops. This is how a president disrespects them, disrespects their families, and disrespects their sacrifice. And all Americans should be outraged.
