Trump Gives Iran Permission To Attack American Cities As MAGA Cheers

During a rally in deep-red Nebraska on Monday evening, Donald Trump literally shrugged off his unprovoked war with Iran by telling the crowd that the destruction of Los Angeles and San Diego would be a “small price to pay,” drawing wild applause.

Imagine for a moment that George W. Bush had told an American crowd before 9/11 that he would be okay with a terrorist attack against New York City. Well, Donald Trump basically did that on Monday during a campaign event in Nebraska to defend his war against Iran.

Trump has repeatedly said that he doesn’t care about high gas prices because he says it’s worth it to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. Of course, Iran has never had nuclear weapons, and there was already an agreement in place during the Obama administration preventing Iran from developing them.

Now Trump is upping the ante. Not only does he think the war is worth the higher gas prices, but he openly stated that it would be worth it even if Iran attacked American cities. Specifically, it seemed Trump was giving Iran permission to attack Los Angeles and San Diego.

“And again, remember, with the war, it’s just artificial,” Trump said. “It’s a little bit high. It’s a small price to pay for keeping the world safe, keeping our country safe. They could take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay, and it’s gonna be over with very soon. It’s essentially almost over with.”

Trump has been claiming victory over Iran since he began the war in February. It’s now October. Lying about the war is one thing. Welcoming an attack against American cities that could result in millions of deaths is even more sinister. It’s unpatriotic. It’s un-American. It’s unpresidential. It’s downright monstrous.

Even Republicans live in California. They live in Los Angeles and San Diego. But Trump is just fine with Iran murdering you because it’s a “small price to pay” so he can continue a war that he is losing.

If former President Obama had made this statement, but had substituted Los Angeles and San Diego with Houston and San Antonio in Texas, or Omaha and Lincoln in Nebraska, Republicans would be furiously demanding his resignation. They would be racing to impeach him.

These remarks by Trump and the crowd’s positive reaction demonstrate the absolute depravity of the right-wing in the United States. They are not Americans. Not anymore.
