Adding to her resume of depravity, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem may have allowed a member of the United States Coast Guard to die so she could use a search and rescue plane to deport immigrants, according to a damning new report.
Soon after Noem took office last year, a young member of the Coast Guard went missing after falling overboard in the Pacific Ocean, triggering a search and rescue operation. But rather than let the Coast Guard do what they do best to find their missing comrade, Noem literally interfered with the operation and may have cost the Coast Guardsman his life, all in the service of Donald Trump’s mass deportation scheme.
According to NBC News:
“Hours into the search, Noem learned that a Coast Guard C-130 that was supposed to fly detained migrants from California to Texas was among the aircraft over the Pacific looking for the missing guardsman, and she intervened, according to the two U.S. officials and the Coast Guard official.
Noem verbally instructed the acting commandant of the Coast Guard, Adm. Kevin Lunday, to pull the plane off the search and rescue mission so it would not miss the immigrant flight as part of the DHS’ so-called Alien Expulsion Operations, according to the two U.S. officials and the Coast Guard official. Lunday notified the National Command Center, which ordered the C-130 to fly to San Diego while other aircraft and ships involved in the search continued, according to one of the U.S. officials and the current Coast Guard official.”
The C-130 was out of the search-and-rescue operation for at least one hour before returning, after two other planes were assigned to the deportations. The Coast Guard never found their missing man, and you have to wonder if Noem’s interference was the difference. It’s little wonder, then, that tensions between DHS and the Coast Guard are high, and morale is plummeting.
Of course, DHS is denying the report by claiming that it is a “politicized deep state effort to undermine President Trump’s immigration enforcement agenda and distract from the historic successes that the Department of Homeland Security and the Coast Guard have achieved since he returned to office.”
In other words, the story is true, and all DHS has is propaganda, smears, and lies to cover it up. Let’s face it, DHS has already lied about many things, including the murder of Alex Pretti by Trump’s ICE Gestapo. Noem’s desperation to impress Trump may have harmed the search to bring back this young Coast Guardman alive. It’s yet another reason why Noem should face her own Nuremberg-style trial, and more proof that Trump and his cronies don’t care about our men and women in uniform.
