Make no mistake, Donald Trump and the Republican Party are running the Nazi playbook, and a right-wing pastor who dares to call himself a “Christian” is demanding the “rounding up” of their political opponents.
Trump and his GOP enablers have already violated the Constitution and human rights law enough to justify impeachment several times over, not to mention America’s own version of Nuremberg trials. Terrorizing immigrants, labeling anti-fascists as terrorists, and using the military to take over American cities are just a handful of actions Trump has taken since January.
From the sidelines, right-wingers are cheering on Trump’s Nazi rampage, even calling for him to jail his political opponents. Joel Webbon is a right-wing pastor with a podcast. Rather than use his podcast to preach the teachings of Jesus, which are counter to everything Trump and the GOP stand for and are currently doing, Webbon used his platform to call for an escalation of the fascism we are already witnessing.
“If Trump is going to have a lasting legacy, he is going to have to cross a Rubicon and say, ‘Enough is enough,'” Webbon said. “The judges, the mayors, the governors. Not just a sternly-worded tweet. No, armed guards throwing them in jail. These are traitors to the United States.”

Trump and the Republican Party have been running roughshod over the Constitution for years now, but they are accelerating lawlessness with impunity, which is the true treason against the United States. After a recent election in which Americans voted for Democrats in a landslide across the country, Trump and the Republicans in Congress absolutely fear being held accountable. Accountability is the only way to end their reign of terror and prevent similar behavior in the future.
As for Webbon, he’s just another reason why Christianity in this country is on the decline and why we must permanently restore the separation of church and state. Never again should anyone be able to use their religion as a shield to hurt others.
