In a pathetic move evoking his past acceptance of a Purple Heart medal he didn’t earn, Donald Trump now appears to be accepting a Nobel Peace Prize from the winner who actually earned it, drawing fresh waves of humiliation.
Trump did NOT receive the Nobel Peace Prize last year despite demanding the award repeatedly over the years, even going so far as to invent reasons why he should win, including the lie about ending “eight” wars, something that never happened. He also hypocritically calls himself “the Peace President” despite sending the military into American cities along with ICE to commit violence. In addition, Trump recently ordered an illegal military strike against Venezuela, the very nation from which the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner resides.
María Corina Machado is the opposition leader in Venezuela who has been fighting for democracy in her country. She rightfully earned the Nobel Peace Prize. Now she’s revealing herself as just another Trump sycophant by offering to give her award to Trump, which Trump shamefully said he would accept during an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News.
“Well, I understand she’s coming in next week sometime, and I look forward to saying hello to her,” Trump said upon Hannity revealing the news. “And I’ve heard that she wants to do that. That would be a great honor.”
It would also be nothing more than a second-hand award that he did not earn himself, like when a veteran gave Trump his Purple Heart back in 2016, to which Trump remarked, “I always wanted to get the Purple Heart. This was much easier.”
Indeed, only soldiers who are wounded or killed in action are awarded the Purple Heart. Trump has done neither for this country. In fact, he never even served in the military at all.
Needless to say, the Internet showered Trump with humiliation.
Trump may accept a second-hand Nobel Peace Prize, but he never earned it, and the record will always reflect that fact. He’s a loser and always will be.
