Rather than mark this year’s Labor Day by praising American workers, Donald Trump ignored them entirely in a rant complaining about his political opponents, all as the economy continues to dither on his watch.
The Trump administration claims that 162,000 jobs were added last month, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics report. However, such reports are impossible to trust since Trump installed his cronies and isn’t above falsifying the numbers to make himself look good.
Trump’s multiple trade wars and tariffs, along with his never-ending war in Iran, have resulted in skyrocketing prices across the country on everything from groceries to gas, all as Americans struggle to keep and find jobs.
On Labor Day, one would expect the president to at least recognize American workers, but Trump couldn’t even be bothered to do that, instead using the occasion to attack his political opponents out of fear of losing the midterm elections in November.
“Happy Labor Day to all, including the Radical Left Lunatics, Communists, and Dumocrats who will do anything possible to destroy our Country,” Trump wrote on his social media account.
“These Deranged People, after fighting for 10 years, should finally acknowledge that your Favorite President (ME!), knows how to WIN,” he continued. “They should be exhausted by now but, sadly, they’re not. They’re going to give it one last shot at ruining America, but we’re not going to let that happen. We’re going to win the Midterms, BIG, and SAVE AMERICA!”
Not even a nod to the workers who break themselves on the daily to keep the country running and the money pouring into billionaires’ pockets.
Meanwhile, Americans still don’t have affordable healthcare, the Constitution is being set on fire, and the rest of the world is starting to pull their gold reserves out of our country because they don’t trust Trump either.
Trump has been an absolute disaster for American workers and the nation as a whole. His policies make it clear that he doesn’t care about workers. His statements make it clear he doesn’t care about workers. And his failure to mention workers in a Labor Day post makes it clear as well. Yet he wonders why he isn’t allowed to speak on the anniversary of 9/11 in New York.
