The United States military has confirmed that it is responsible for the deaths of at least 165 Iranian schoolgirls who were killed by a missile strike during the first day of Donald Trump’s unprovoked war in Iran. Now he suddenly knows “nothing” about it.
It was during the opening attack against Iran that American forces fired a missile that hit a school in Tehran, killing 165 girls who were trying to learn. International outrage has been ongoing ever since, as targeting schools and killing innocent children is a war crime.
When previously asked about the missile strike, Trump blamed Iran. But an investigation by military officials has concluded that American forces are responsible, according to the New York Times. Whether accidental or on purpose, innocent blood is on Trump’s hands and the hands of every government official and service member who participated in the missile strike.
Of course, when reporters informed Trump of the investigation results at the White House on Wednesday, he feigned ignorance.
“Day 11, and as you know, we’re doing something that nobody ever thought was possible to do,” Trump bragged. “Our military is the best, it’s the most powerful in the world, and they’re hitting them very hard.”
“A new report says that the military investigation has found that the United States struck the school in Iran,” a reporter pointed out, bursting Trump’s propaganda bubble. “As Commander-in-Chief, do you take responsibility for that?”
Predictably, Trump did not take responsibility. He pretended to know nothing.
“For what?” Trump asked.
“The school in Iran,” the reporter repeated. “A new report says the military investigation has found it was the United States that struck the school.”
“I don’t know about it,” Trump replied.
Every single person complicit in this mass killing should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity, from Donald Trump to the lowliest private. 165 school girls are never going back to school to learn. They are never going to be in the arms of their parents again. They never get to grow up.
Our country no longer has any moral high ground to stand on. And it’s because we continue to allow Trump to occupy the White House instead of putting him in prison where he belongs.
