Walmart Undercuts Trump Claim That He’s The Reason For Lower Prices

Donald Trump rushed to social media to take credit for Walmart lowering prices, claiming that the retail giant agreed to his supposed request to cut prices as part of his “America 250” celebration. Walmart says otherwise.

Trump’s July 4th festivities were a complete disaster, as attendance was sparse and entertainers were subpar. The entire event was humiliating, both to Trump and the United States. The economy under Trump has also been in shambles because of his incompetence, tax cuts for the rich, and an unprovoked war that sent gas prices and inflation through the roof.

This also includes the price of groceries, which are higher under Trump than they ever were under former President Joe Biden. So, when Walmart announced its recent “Rollback” event, Trump immediately tried to take credit and tied it to America’s birthday.

“Great news!” Trump wrote on his social media account earlier this week. “I have just been informed that one of the biggest, best, and smartest Retailers in America, Walmart, will be lowering prices, by a lot, at my Administration’s request to celebrate our great Country’s 250th birthday.”

Yeah, about that. Walmart says that their price rollback had nothing to do with Trump and occurred the week prior, according to a statement provided by the company to conservative media outlet The Bulwark.

Walmart regularly runs rollback sales, and none of them were influenced by Trump. His rush to claim credit is the desperate move of a desperate man who knows he’s a failure and a fraud. His policies have done nothing to help the American people. In fact, his policies have done nothing but harm.

Americans are losing their homes and farms. Gas prices are still high, and oil reserves are running low. Inflation has only risen. Our people are struggling while Trump and his family cash in on the presidency. It’s disgraceful, and it’s truly pathetic that Trump is so desperate to be seen as good for the economy that he’s taking credit for a Walmart sale.
