Mexican President Pens BRUTAL Letter To Trump

Trump messed with the wrong woman.

Claudia Sheinbaum

Donald Trump has big plans as soon as he assumes office. Unfortunately, none of those plans involve doing anything that will benefit anyone but his rich friends he has enlisted to help him loot the country. One of those plans is to impose massive tariffs on goods imported from Mexico and Canada — two of our biggest trading partners — as well as China. Trump’s plan will hurt the economy by driving up prices on imported goods — including eggs. In response to his announcement, the Mexican President penned a brutal letter to Trump that demonstrates she has no intention of taking things lying down.

Trump’s tariffs are expected to cause a massive spike in inflation as well as an increase in average spending for a typical American family of $1,300 per year. U.S. businesses — including the auto industry, which imports raw materials from Mexico. We can expect layoffs not only in the auto industry but also in any industry that uses a lot of imported parts. This, coupled with Trump’s plan to spend our tax dollars deporting immigrants (which also will have disastrous effects on our economy), indicates that the United States has a rough time ahead of her.

“On January 20th, as one of my many first Executive Orders, I will sign all necessary documents to charge Mexico and Canada a 25% Tariff on ALL products coming into the United States, and its ridiculous Open Borders,” Trump said in a recent post on Truth Social. “This Tariff will remain in effect until such time as Drugs, in particular Fentanyl, and all Illegal Aliens stop this Invasion of our Country!” In response, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum let Trump know in no uncertain terms that she is not going to take this assault lying down.

Mexican President Pens BRUTAL Letter To Trump

In her letter, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum reminds Trump that largely thanks to her country’s efforts to provide assistance to migrants, encounters at the US-Mexico border have decreased substantially. Fentanyl, she reminds Trump, is more of an American issue than a Mexican one. Most fentanyl — nearly 90 percent — is trafficked by U.S. citizens.

Sheinbaum says that “any tariffs imposed by one side would likely prompt retaliatory tariffs, leading to risks for joint enterprises.” In other words, she will impose retaliatory tariffs that will hurt Americans even more. And since parts used in the auto industry cross the border multiple times, this could devastate areas like Detroit that depend on that industry for jobs.

Sheinbaum notes that Trump omits a major issue: the flow of guns into Mexico from the United States:

Furthermore, the Mexican Congress is in the process of approving a constitutional reform to classify the production, distribution, and commercialization of fentanyl and other synthetic drugs as a serious crime without bail. However, it is publicly known that the chemical precursors used to produce this and other synthetic drugs are illegally entering Canada, the United States, and Mexico from Asian countries. This underscores the urgent need for international collaboration. You must also be aware of the illegal trafficking of firearms into my country from the United States.

Seventy percent of the illegal weapons seized from criminals in Mexico come from your country. We do not produce these weapons, nor do we consume synthetic drugs. Tragically, it is in our country that lives are lost to the violence resulting from meeting the drug demand in yours.

“For every tariff, there will be a response in kind, until we put at risk our shared enterprises,” she says. “Yes, shared. For instance, among Mexico’s main exporters to the United States are General Motors, Stellantis, and Ford Motor Company, which arrived in Mexico 80 years ago.”

“Why impose a tariff that would jeopardize them?” Sheinbaum continues. “Such a measure would be unacceptable and would lead to inflation and job losses in both the United States and Mexico.”

Americans may be willing to sit back and take Trump’s lies, but not Sheinbaum. This is the courage each and every one of us will need to find in the coming years.
