Trump Accuses Republicans Of Treason For Voting Against His Iran War

In a temper tantrum on social media Tuesday night, Donald Trump literally accused Republicans of treason for voting against his unprovoked war with Iran.

After a handful of Republicans in the House and Senate joined Democrats to pass a resolution ordering Trump to withdraw American forces from the Middle East, Trump took to his social media account to rage against them, taking particular aim at Republicans by accusing them of providing “aid and comfort to the enemy.”

“So, I have Iran on the ‘ropes,’ ready to go down for the fall, willing to give us practically anything, and for the first time in decades, respecting the hell out of the United States and its President, ME, and the U.S. Senate decides to have a poorly timed and meaningless War Powers Act Vote, telling the Number One Sponser of Terror in the World that the United States doesn’t like what I am doing to them, and I must stop, and by so doing has provided aid and comfort the Enemy,” Trump wrote.

“Four Republican Losers voted with the Dumocrats, and Iran asked my people, ‘what does that all mean?’ These Senators have just made my job more difficult, but I will get it done, one way or the other, because I always get it done!”  Trump concluded.

Providing aid and comfort to the enemy is part of the definition of treason in the United States, according to Article III, Section 3 of the Constitution. Trump is literally accusing Republicans and Democrats who voted against his war powers of committing treason, a crime punishable by death.

Of course, it’s absolutely NOT treason to vote against the president’s wishes. It’s NOT treason to act as a check on presidential power. If anything, Trump himself violated the Constitution by starting a war that the country does not support and that Congress did not vote for, as the Constitution requires. Only Congress has the power to declare war.

Furthermore, Trump’s Iran deal overwhelmingly favors Iran, which is set to obtain hundreds of billions of dollars while giving up virtually nothing. Even Republicans have been criticizing the deal as a foreign policy blunder that would cause Ronald Reagan to turn over in his grave.

This is yet another example of Trump’s unfitness for the presidency. He cannot be allowed to remain in office. Sadly, most Republicans will do nothing to stop him because they are all complicit or cowards.
