Donald Trump doesn’t give a damn about those who have sacrificed their lives for our country, and he proved it on Memorial Day in social media posts and during a ceremony during which he fell asleep.
As Memorial Day began on Monday morning, Trump couldn’t resist hopping on social media to post yet another divisive message to supposedly honor the servicemen and women who have died defending our nation. Not only did he use the post to attack Democrats, but he also told blatant lies about how he feels about the military.
“Happy Memorial Day to all, including the Dumocrats, who disrespect our Military and all of the tremendous success that it has had over the last year, ” Trump wrote. “God Bless those that have made the ultimate sacrifice. I love you all!”
It was just the first of several posts on Monday that made up a rage rant. Of course, we all know that Trump has zero respect for our troops, both living and dead.
After all, Trump once referred to American World War I soldiers buried in Europe as “suckers and losers.” Trump repeatedly mused about awarding himself the Medal of Honor even though he’s a five-time draft dodger who has never served in the military. In addition, Trump currently treats active duty military personnel as his own personal forces, ordering them to invade American cities and commit war crimes.
He’s even gotten many soldiers killed and wounded by starting an unprovoked war against Iran.
Adding insult to injury, Trump appears to have fallen asleep during a ceremony to honor their sacrifice. He couldn’t even be bothered to stay awake to honor dead soldiers.
And soon, if Trump has his way, more soldiers will likely die if his plans to cripple military readiness in the name of oil profits come to pass. Our troops deserve an actual leader who respects them and their sacrifice. That’s not Trump. He’s a complete disgrace.
