Obama Slams Trump For Turning America Into A ‘Clown Show’

Former President Barack Obama threw multiple jabs at Donald Trump in a new interview for targeting his family on social media and turning America into a circus.

It was only a few months ago that Trump took to his social media account to post a racist AI-generated video of Obama and his wife, former First Lady Michelle Obama, depicting them as monkeys. The post drew mass outrage, forcing Trump to make excuses before he finally deleted it without apologizing for it.

During an interview with The New Yorker, Obama called Trump out for crossing a line that most Republicans used to respect.

“I’m always offended when my wife and kids get dragged into things, because they didn’t choose this. That’s a line that even people whose politics I deeply reject, I would expect them to care about,” Obama said. “I would never talk about somebody’s family in that way. I mean, I’m a fair target in the sense of, yeah, you can feel free to pick on me, because I’m your own size.”

In fact, most decent Americans would say that Obama is a bigger and better man and human being than Trump ever will be. Trump is nowhere near Obama’s equal.

Obama then called out Republicans for giving Trump a pass for his bad behavior and for letting him turn America into a “clown show.”

“There doesn’t seem to be any shame about this among people who used to feel like you had to have some sort of decorum and a sense of propriety and respect for the office,” he said. “There’s this sort of clown show that’s happening in social media and on television.”

In addition, Obama voiced concern about Trump treating war like a video game, a reference to the fact that Trump’s daily briefings on his war in Iran feature photographs and videos of things blowing up.

Hearing from Obama certainly makes one wish he were president right now. At least America was in good hands then, when we had a real president in charge.
